Best Burger in Bellingham

Filed under: Bellingham local,Bellingham Restaurants — Bellingham Diner @ 5:54 pm

So where can you get the best hamburger in Bellingham, Washington? A common question. Let’s explore, and update this post with the “answer” when it is settled. Add your favorites in the comments.

The Loft : Offers a regular burger and a Kobe burger…. much higher end than popular burger joints, and also good.

Fiamma Burger : Certainly convenient when you’re downtown, but not as good a burger as Boomers or Five Guys. Large fry plate is massive.. and very good.

Bob’s Burger and Brew : Fat burgers, big plates, but not memorable as burgers go.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries : A higher quality burger than Boomers, but overall about the same because Boomer’s has better fries

Boomer’s Drive In : Cheap food, but good!

Daphne’s Fairhaven

Daphne’s Cafe is coming to Fairhaven at 1200 10th St., Suite 102, as an expansion of the Fairhaven Village Inn.  It is related to Daphne’s in Edmonds, a cozy little cafe and wine bar that bills itself as “Beer, wine, and a little food”. The menu on their Edmonds website reads:

“A rotating list of green, white, red, and sparkling wines and Belgian draught beers. Bread, cheese, salumi, olives, nuts, and handmade chocolates”

The Bellingham Business Journal reports that Brian Taylor and Louise Favie hope to open Daphne’s before the end of the year.

Joe’s Garden

Joe’s Garden is a beautiful place. You drive by the fields of flowers and fruits and vegetables to arrive at the main house. The people who work there are smiling and eager to help. I think it has to do with Karol. She is a rush of happy. Her demeanor is ‘I love what I’m doing and I love to share it with you‘.

Joe's Garden

My Mother wanted to take some local blueberries home with her to Florida the next day. Karol said it would be easy to just put a top on the container; they would be good for 3 days. Oh, and Mom would like some lavender, too, please (even though the season is over). Karol cut it herself, gratis. She knows how to make my Mom happy! Is it any wonder the place was packed?

And I found more local raspberries here. Boxx Berry Farms had the last of their raspberries out on Friday – I got those. We ate them all within a day. Now we had more – happy faces. I also bought beets and cauliflower; roasted them with chicken and was lucky to get any. The corn looked great and so was the price.

Mike at Boxx Berry Farms paid me quite a compliment telling me I could be a twin to Karol. Thank you, Mike.
