I stumbled upon Bjornstad Farms flipping through my Where the Locals Go coupon book. I took a drive with my little girlfriend up the Guide (Meridian) to the Old Guide in Lynden following the signs to the farm. We were on a strawberry picking mission and we were in luck. A very friendly lady showed us some over producing rows we could fill our buckets with. I picked quite a few strawberries the size of golf balls. Of course my companion claimed them as her own. 10 pounds and an hour later and we were on the road home.
The strawberries found homes in smoothies, ice cream, floats, waffles, chocolate; you name it. And then they were gone.
The farm has rows of everbearing strawberry plants. Maybe we’ll pick strawberries and raspberries next time.
